I had a commission for a pair of quilts for a couple who like to hunt. I made one in brown with garnet accents and the other in garnet with brown accents.

This pattern is called Ground Cover by Me and My Sister Designs.

In the original quilt pattern, the center square is a solid color like the block on the right. I replaced those solid squares with wild animal squares that I cut from hunting theme fabric (block on the left).

I left a few of the squares solid so that it wouldn’t be too busy.

I added 2 borders to each quilt.

I quilted each one on my longarm machine using an edge to edge pattern called Rocky Mountain from Urban Elementz.

I used Chocolate Frosting thread on the brown quilt and Flowering Plum on the Garnet one.
