This is my second Foundation Paper Piecing project that I finished this summer. I purchased and downloaded this pattern from Happysewluckyshop on Etsy.
-
There were quite a few sections and some of them were tiny letters. This pattern is well written and it is color coded to keep things more organized. I bought a few special fabrics for this one and also used some leftover stash.
-
This is the completed back. Once everything was sewn together, I removed the paper.
-
There were a lot of tricky intersections but the pattern made it easy to line the seams up correctly.
-
And here's where it all went whack. I originally wanted to make this into a tote bag. I quilted the border and it just didn't look good. The interior wouldn't lay flat and it didn't feel like a bag so I made the decision to RIP it out!
-
I made a new border and loaded the piece onto my table top longarm machine. Much better!
-
I free-motion quilted a modified version of The Eye of Providence, a symbol representing knowledge, in the center of the heart.
-
I quilted straight lines in the border using the walking foot on my domestic machine.
-
I finished the raw edges with a mitered facing.
-
Lower corner on the backside of the wall hanging.
-
The back has a hanging sleeve and rod.
