Fender Guitar
-
The Fender Guitar quilt was inspired by an album cover from The Chartbusters. The primary colors were replaced by earth tones. I mapped out the album cover on a piece of graph paper to determine the shape dimensions.
-
I used the same layout and replaced the faces with musical elements. I used an hombre white to gray color in main squares to give it a shadow effect.
-
I cut out the Fender logo and guitar pick and appliqued them onto the quilt. The guitar pick is cut from brown stippled fabric and the gold letters are colored in with a fabric pen.
-
The guitar was cut from different colored fabrics and appliqued onto the quilt. I used the eyelet stitch on my domestic machine to sew the fret markers, tuning pegs, pickup and bridge. I used straight stitch for the guitar strings.
-
On The Lighter Side Ivory Music Notes for the backing. I quilted this on my longarm with Music Notes pattern from Urban Elementz.
